Summary:
The story of Leader is about a guy called Arjun Prasad (RaNa) who sets out to be
the leader of masses, by providing them with an empathetic and corruption free administration. The story is about how this sincere and idealistic guy faces challenges and how he circumvents them through his intelligent ways. In the process he becomes the CM of the state also. It's a saga of a young man who wishes to change the rules of system.
Scanning:
The man behind the scenes Sekhar Kammula has done his research well. This being his long cherished baby he has put his
heart and soul into the film. Though some glaring faults in some scenes are apparent, they could be over looked for the good effort put in. though the film would have been a drag with the presence of the heroines. The only area where the audience would feel suffocated would be the lack of comedy. The film scores in the sincerity of the effort and a novel idea. Surely it is a departure from the run of the mill song and dance sequence films that Tollywood is used to offer. The production values are excellent. Some of the scenes and dialogues hit the nail on the head, they convey the meaning they intend to, and surely emotions are racing when one hears them. The film is also a good roller-coaster ride emotion wise and the eyes would be wet every now and then seeing the tragic scenes. It's a one man show and the rest of the cast revolve round him. So RaNa is the man. He has done a good job and from no angle does he look a debutant. His upbringing in the filmy Khandan of Rama Naidu shows-upthe film. Subba Raju, Kota, Tannikella Bharani, Suhasini and the heroines Richa and Priya all do justice to their respective roles.
Round-Up:
A must watch for many reasons. One for the sincere effort, second for RaNa's excellent debut and third for an emotional ride! This is one film you would keep discussing in your head for at least a week after you have seen it. It is intelligent and
thought provoking. What else do you need in a film?
Cine Herald Verdict: It’s Honest And Good
